Track Circuits

Rail heads are parts of rail current, mounted besides the track and sirve for immediate power and control of track circuits (šrails) from one end, and to return the power from the other end of track circuit into relay room to the receiver(track relay). It consists of: housing, cover, stand, cable enters with protective pipe, resistor or condenser with reactor and connector. On electrified tracks it is used:

  • Impedance bond is used on electrified tracks to separate return cable of pulling power from power for rail current of track circuit.
  • Impedance bond has double part : enables return pulling power galvanic continuity trough isolated structure and disables current flow from one section to the next section.
  • According to the way of using it can be power or relay.
  • On the power side, impedance bond transforms the power from power transformer to voltage needed for powering of track circuit.
  • On the relay side, at the end of the section, it transforms track power to the value neede for attracting of control relay.
  • It is placed, into concrete housing, next to rails directly with insulated rail structure.
